About The Artists

A fundamental part of Escama Studio is to credit the artists who create our products; each bag comes with a hang tag bearing the signature of the individual who crocheted the piece. About The Cooperatives

The artists work in two craft cooperatives — Cia do Lacre and As Panteras do Lacre — located in 'satellite cities' of Brasília, Brazil. The cooperatives offer women in the community a means to earn a living wage through handicrafts and provide offer a setting where friends are made and self-esteem is regained.
