It's Safer To Ride a Bike to Work

I've enjoyed riding a bike to work for ten years. It's been a bit dangerous at times -- just like riding a motorcycle, oftentimes cars wouldn't always know how to keep a safe distance and would sometimes 'buzz' too close. The side of the road has been hazardous with parked trucks and cars opening their doors and there hasn't been adequate space for bikes to maneuver. This is changing and it's a lot safer to ride to work. With many cities constructing designated bike lanes these problems are getting addressed.

Here's a great little video that talks about how cities around the United States are adopting designated bike lanes.
